Born and raised in Modesto, Austin’s love and roots for his community run deep. On his mother’s side, his late grandfather Jerry Ichord was a cattle rancher in Oakdale, CA. On his father’s side, his family immigrated from Holland in the 1940’s and brought their knowledge of agriculture throughout Northern California.
Growing up and working on a dairy instilled a work ethic of determination and creative problem solving under pressure. The will power and physical endurance to get up early in the morning to care for life on the farm is one of the things that sets Austin apart.
