The Community

Livermore is the third wealthiest midsize (65,000 and 249,999 people) city in the nation, following only Newport Beach in Orange County and neighboring Pleasanton. It is also a relatively young city, with a median age of just 38. The city is diverse, and in addition to churches, you will find the Islamic Center of Livermore (ICL) and the Shiva-Vishnu Hindu Temple here in town.

Livermore’s largest employers are the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, Sandia National Laboratories, and Unified Valley School District, which runs 11 excellent elementary (K-5 and K-8) schools, three middle schools (grades 6-8), two comprehensive high schools, and three alternative high schools. Livermore also has a number of highly-rated charter and private schools.

You’ll find young families, tech commuters, and a rapidly growing blue-collar workforce here as the city is expanding. There is a BART station nearby in Dublin/Pleasanton, a fantastic area bus system, and business jets can fly in and out of Livermore Municipal Airport.
