The Community

West Hollywood is characterized by a community that takes a lot of pride their neighborhood, and it sure does show. Every weekend, you can take a stroll through the neighborhoods and see families playing the public parks. There is never a lack of patrons at the hot spots on West Hollywood's famous Santa Monica Blvd. West Hollywood is also its own independent city, and is run very efficiently by city officials. The West Hollywood community benefits from being adjacent to the slightly more prestigious Beverly Hills, but without the stuffiness. WeHo likes to have fun, and cultivates a tremendous friendly and welcoming atmosphere for all.

The Culture

West Hollywood's culture is unlike anywhere else in Los Angeles. West Hollywood is the epicenter for Los Angeles' LGBTQ community, and the city's roots are grounded in inclusivity. Over the years, WeHo has evolved into a town with many different parts. The upscale hotels and restaurants sit on the Sunset strip, tailoring towards refined crowds.

When you want to let your hair down for a night on the town, head a few blocks south on Melrose, La Cienega, and Santa Monica Blvd. All of these major thoroughfares have some of LA's best bars, restaurants, and entertainment options. Outside of the vast amount of amenities, WeHo continues to maintain a more quaint, neighborhood feel, and it's one of our favorite neighborhoods in Los Angeles.

Lifestyle

The best way to describe the West Hollywood lifestyle is vibrant, upscale and quaint. Those three adjectives may have a hard time living together, but in West Hollywood, those three words summarize “WeHo.” As mentioned above, West Hollywood has extravagant bars and restaurants, but also maintains a quiet and welcoming neighborhood feel.

Meander down to Dialogue Cafe and sip on your morning latte. Pop into Book Soup on Sunset, and discover one of LA's most historic book stores. Stroll down any of the neighborhood streets, and say hello to your neighbors. Grab an evening cocktail at The Edition Hotel, and marvel at the City's beauty. Whatever kind of lifestyle you're looking for, you will find it in West Hollywood.

Real Estate Market

While West Hollywood has extravagant homes, most of which have been recently constructed, the real estate market is not as expensive and exclusive as some of its neighboring communities, such as Beverly Hills, Century City and Hollywood. Many of the existing, older homes in WeHo are Spanish bungalows on tucked away streets. The WeHo condo market can be relatively affordable for almost any budget.

Yes, you will find the expensive condos in the highly-ammenitized buildings, but you can also find many affordable condos on great streets throughout the City with relatively low HOA monthly dues. With a median home value of under $1 million, West Hollywood is often times thought of as a more affordable option to Beverly Hills. If you're in the market to purchase a home on the Westside of Los Angeles, West Hollywood would be a great place to start your search.
