The Culture

Livermore’s downtown First Street district is home to fantastic shops, cafes, restaurants, gastropubs, and even a rooftop bar and kitchen. The beautiful architecture and fountain plaza draw residents to relax and just enjoy themselves in a lovely setting. Shopping options here range from big malls to antique stores to the San Francisco Premium Outlets, and restaurants from Latin American to Indian and Middle Eastern.

There are many lovely parks in town, and just ten minutes south is Del Valle Regional Park, with a huge lake for sailing, fishing, and swimming, as well as thousands of acres of oak-covered hills for hiking, horseback riding, and relaxing in nature. For serious hikers, the park is also the trailhead for the Ohlone Wilderness Trail, a 28-mile scenic hiking trail. You can play a round of golf at Las Positas, an oasis on the west side of town, or at the stunning Wente Vineyards course surrounded by rolling hills and grapevines.

Livermore hosts annual wine festivals, a Children’s Fair, and is even home to the Intermediate Little League World Series!
