When the city of Phoenix was expanding in the early 1960’s, the residents of Paradise Valley (including John and Sandra Day O’Connor) came together to have their beloved town incorporated.

These founding families wanted to preserve Paradise Valley’s coveted real estate, residential feel, and its limited yet effective government. City ordinances for synchronized streetlights and underground power lines ease traffic and protect the spectacular desert views.
