This city of about 82,000 is situated at the base of nature reserves and hills filled with hiking trails, and its downtown streets are lined with trees and flowers. There are two BART stations and big companies like Apple, Google, and Facebook even offer nice commuter buses to bring employees to their campuses. Pleasanton has big shopping malls and chain restaurants as well as unique shops and dining on its historic Main Street. The Alameda County Fair comes to the County Fairgrounds in town every summer, where you can also attend cars shows, horse races, and other fun activities throughout the year. With more parks per capita than most cities, a huge sports complex, and an 80-acre lake just on the edge of town, Pleasanton is an amazing place to call home.
