Joanna Pellerito

Executive Partner

Joanna Pellerito is an Executive Partner at Craft & Bauer Real Estate Co. Early in her career, Joanna realized that taking the time to hear people’s stories provided the insights she needed to take care of their needs. She actually loved sitting open houses, using them as an opportunity to get to know people in the market, build rapport, find out what was important to them, and then help them get it. As a rookie agent, her broker said that he’d never seen anyone with her level of enthusiasm.

Joanna’s energy and resolve stem from her upbringing in a large Sicilian family in Detroit. She learned the value of hard work, perseverance, loyalty, and follow-through, going on to earn degrees in social work, sociology, and teaching. That education has been a tremendous help to her career in real estate, as she learned the importance of listening, finding common ground, and always doing the right thing by others.

When Joanna and her husband moved to Lake Havasu City, she became interested in real estate and started what would become known as “Joanna’s Sunday Bus Tour”. She would make sandwiches and cupcakes and take people who were looking for houses on a tour of the listings in the area, even if they weren’t her own. Joanna went from an unknown to making over 20% of the sales in the real estate market in a town with over 800 estate agents. She became somewhat of a local celebrity when people recognized her in town from seeing her marketing on movie screens.

Joanna became the worldwide sales leader for a major company when she went to work for Better Homes and Gardens real estate. She was their #1 producer for three years and her pride in that accomplishment exceeded her wildest expectations, especially because her clients shared in that joy. Joanna gained repute and was able to attend conventions and listen to speakers “who knew more than me.” That made an impact on her, and she continually tells people, “Share everything you have and that you know with everyone else. Good will comes back.” All of these experiences led to Joanna becoming a developer and opening her own company, Joanna & Associates Realty.  For a number of years, Joanna & Associates was the #1 real estate team in Lake Havasu City. Then an economic downturn led her to face new challenges.

Joanna went to work for Starwood Capital Group at the age of 60, where the average close rate was 12%. Implementing her strategies from everything she’d learned over her career, Joanna shattered Starwood’s records with a close rate of 46%. That success was driven by her favorite part of this work, listening to what people want and need so that she can help them accomplish their goals and ambitions with the least amount of resistance, delivering a positive experience for all of her clients.

Joanna is learning to play the guitar at 70, inspired by the music of Pink Floyd, Bob Seger, and Led Zeppelin. She’s also a lifelong fan of The Beatles and sees Paul McCartney in concert whenever she can. Joanna also enjoys crocheting, embroidery, and spending time with her eight grandchildren. In the end, Joanna wants people in her life to look back at her and say, “You were a very positive force in me getting the things I needed and wanted, and getting closer to the people that I needed and loved.”
